I saw and experienced much disorganization within Statistics Canada. Right from the beginning of my first meeting, supplies were shorted, leaving enumerators needing important supplies to do the job they were hired to do.

We got lots of cards to hand individuals if they were looking for work, not sure what good that does when the hiring process was complete. There was not a sense of importance or urgency for the public to do the questionnaires.

Enumerators were put in situations that could be dangerous. Pairing needed to be organized to help keep employees safe. The pay was not something to write home about for sure. It was ok but considering what one does to get the questionnaires completed the pay was lacking.

I would do this again but my expectations going in would be more realistic. Pros working on own schedule, mileage, monies paid for use of home office supplies. Cons confusing paperwork, lack of organzation, Not enough remuneration.
